Farmleigh Day 2014

Experience Japan Hanami Festival Day
Sunday 13 April, 12 to 4pm

Join members of Dublin’s Japanese community and students groups from UCD and DCU to celebrate a Hanami (Cherry Blossom) Festival.  Hanami is an annual event in Japan where friends come together for outdoor parties to welcome spring and celebrate nature.  (This event is supported by Dublin City Council, the Office of Public Works and the Embassy of Japan in Ireland.)
Activities include:
• Taiko drum performances
• Martial Arts demonstrations
• Music performances with a fusion of Japanese and Irish performances
• Origami and kite making craft workshops for children
• Yo-Yo fishing and other fun activities for children
• Cosplay fashions framed with traditional Kimono displays
• Japanese art workshop
• Soran Bushi dancing
• Japanese food stalls
• Seminars on Japanese Food, Animation and Japanese Art

The venue for the day is Farmleigh House in the Phoenix Park.   For information on how to get there, see.   If you don’t have your own transport, Dublin Bus Route 37 goes to the Castleknock gate of the Phoenix Park, which is fifteen minutes’ walk from Farmleigh. The bus schedule is here.
