Artist Shota Kotake will be painting some familiar characters in anime style..

MARTIAL ARTS DEMONSTRATIONS
On the second stage in the park, watch demonstrations of Japanese martial arts Aikidio, Bukinkan, Iaido, Judo, Karate and Kendo

ORIGAMI, 12-4pm
Fold paper to make classic origami shapes including the crane

POETRY/HAIKU
Members of Haiku Ireland will give poetry readings in the Walled Garden

TAMAIRE/POLE BASKET BALL, 12-4pm
A familiar game to anyone who’s been to a Sports Day in Japan, and maybe a new hobby for everyone else!

BON ODORI DANCE
A traditional Japanese dance, performed near the Sunken Garden by the mothers of students in the Japanese School

YOYO FISHING, 12-4pm
A classic Japanese festival game – fish the yo-yo tsuri (balloon) from the water

YUKATA/KIMONO, 1-3pm
Take your photo trying on traditional Japanese Kimono and Yukata (summer kimono)
